In derselben Woche schließen
The list is long, everybody has seen it, and nothing moves. Almost always the reason is the same: the items are written with “we” and “the team” and nobody’s name. A task without a name is not a task — it is a hope that somebody will notice.
One name per line
Not a department, not a project, a person. If nobody can be named, the line is not a task yet — it is a decision about who owns it, and that decision is the real work. Five minutes with the list usually names four of the five items.
Give a date, or cut the line
“Soon” keeps items alive for months without ever being due. A date makes a line either actionable or embarrassing — and both outcomes are useful. A list where everything is overdue is honest; a list where nothing is due is furniture.
Close it in the same week
Open items age into guilt, and guilt gets avoided. One short pass each week: done, not needed, or moved with a new date. An item moved twice in a row is not a task — it is a decision somebody is postponing, and that should be visible.
Keep the list short
Twelve owned lines beat sixty shared ones. A short list gets read at the start of a meeting and finished before lunch. A long list gets opened, scrolled and closed — and then the same problem appears again next quarter: everybody knew, nobody owned it.
Sahibi olan on iki satır, sahibi olmayan altmıştan iyidir. Kısa liste toplantının başında okunur ve öğle yemeğinden önce biter. Uzun liste açılır, kaydırılır ve kapatılır — ardından aynı sorun gelecek çeyrekte yine çıkar: herkes biliyordu, kimse sahip değildi.
