Der zweite Monitor, der plötzlich nicht mehr arbeitet
Der zweite Bildschirm war heute Morgen noch da und ist jetzt weg: kein Bild, keine zweite Arbeitsfläche, nichts in den Anzeigeoptionen. Bevor jemand neues Gerät bestellt, dauern vier Prüfungen fünf Minuten — und meist ist eine davon die Antwort.
Prüfung eins: Kabel und Eingang
Beide Enden — Strom und Signal — fest gedrückt, und der Monitor auf dem Eingang, auf dem das Kabel tatsächlich liegt. Monitoren merken sich den zuletzt aktiven Eingang und schalten zurück, nachdem eine Steckdosenleiste aus war. Der Eingangsknopf kostet fünf Sekunden und erledigt erstaunlich viele dieser Fälle.
Prüfung zwei: Anzeige erkennen
Windows: Anzeigeoptionen → erkennen. macOS: Systemeinstellungen → Bildschirme, dabei die Optionstaste halten, für die verborgene Schaltfläche „Bildschirme erkennen”. Ein angeschlossener, aber nicht erkannter Bildschirm ist nach einer Dockingstation, einem Beamer oder hart zugeklappter Laptop-Deckel ein normaler Zustand.
Prüfung drei: anderes Kabel, anderer Port
Den anderen Anschluss am Dock versuchen, und falls vorhanden ein anderes Kabel. Funktioniert der Monitor mit dem anderen Port, ist weder der Monitor noch Ihre Einstellung defekt — es ist dieser Anschluss, und er sollte notiert werden, bevor jemand einen neuen Bildschirm bestellt.
Prüfung vier: Treiber und Grafik
Letzter Schritt: Grafiktreiber aktualisieren, dann mit bereits angeschlossenem Monitor neu starten. Kehrt das Bild erst danach zurück, haben Sie die Antwort. Wenn nichts hilft: die vier Prüfungen mit Ergebnis notieren — die nächste Person beginnt in Minute sechs statt Minute eins.
The second screen was there this morning and now it is not: no picture, no second desktop, nothing in the display settings. Before anybody reorders hardware, four checks take five minutes — and most of the time one of them is the answer.
Check one: cable and input
Both ends — power and signal — pressed firmly, and the monitor set to the input the cable is actually on. Monitors remember the last active input and switch back after a power strip was turned off. Pressing the input button costs five seconds and settles a surprising share of these cases.
Check two: detect the display
Windows: display settings, then detect. macOS: system settings, displays, hold the Option key for the hidden “detect displays” button. A display that is connected but not detected is a normal state after a dock, a projector or a laptop lid that was closed hard.
Check three: a different cable, a different port
Try the other socket on the dock, and a different cable if you have one. If the screen works with the other port, the fault is neither the monitor nor your settings — it is that port, and it should be written down before somebody orders a new screen.
Check four: driver and graphics
Last step: update the graphics driver, then restart with the monitor already connected. If the picture returns only after that, you have the answer. If nothing helps, note the four checks with their result — the next person starts at minute six instead of minute one.

Windows: ekran ayarları, sonra algıla. macOS: sistem ayarları, ekranlar — gizli „ekranları algıla" düğmesi için seçeneğe basılı tutun. Bağlı ama algılanmayan bir ekran; docking, projektor ya da sert kapatılan laptop kapağından sonra normal bir durumdur.
Kontrol üç: başka kablo, başka port
Dockingteki diğer yuveyi deneyin, bir yedeğiniz varsa başka bir kablo da. Ekran diğer porttayla çalışıyorsa arıza monitörde ya da ayarlarınızda değildir — o porttadır ve birisi yeni ekran sipariş etmeden önce yazılmalıdır.
Kontrol dört: sürücü ve grafik
Son adım: grafik sürücüsünü güncelle, sonra monitör zaten bağlıyken yeniden başlat. Görüntü ancak ondan sonra geliyorsa yanıtı buldunuz. Hiçbiri işe yaramazsa dört kontrolü sonuçlarıyla not edin — sıradaki kişi birinci dakika yerine altıncı dakikadan başlar.
