In zehn Minuten prüfen

  1. Alle Geräte zählen: Telefon, Tablet, Rechner, Webmail. Jedes ist ein Kandidat.

You changed the password, mail works on the desktop — and the phone asks again every morning. After the tenth time you feel like mailing the password to yourself. That is exactly the wrong move.

In most cases the cause is trivial: somewhere a device or a second mail program is still using the old password.

The five causes, most common first

  1. A second device — tablet, old laptop, a second mail program on the same PC — still has the old password.
  2. No app password: with Microsoft 365 or Google with two-factor, the normal password often fails in older programs; those need an app password or a browser-based sign-in.
  3. Account locked: too many failed attempts lock the account, and after that every device is asked again.
  4. Wrong server settings: server name or port changed (a hosting move changes both).
  5. A stored old sign-in: the system keeps resending the old credentials.

Check it in ten minutes

  1. Count the devices: phone, tablet, desktop, webmail. Each one is a suspect.
  2. Sign one device in after the other: remove the account there, add it again, type the new password — not all devices at once.
  3. Create an app password where two-factor is on and use it only where the normal password is refused.
  4. Check incoming and outgoing: both need the same account and current server data.
  5. Wait 30 minutes after the last change before trying again — locks often clear themselves.

Two things never: send the password by email, and switch two-factor off for good. If it still asks after these five steps, the problem sits with the provider — then a phone call helps, not another attempt.

  5. Kayıtlı eski giriş: sistem eski bilgileri saklar ve sürekli yeniden yollar.

On dakikada kontrol

  1. Cihazları sayın: telefon, tablet, masaüstü, web postası. Her biri şüphelidir.
  2. Cihazları tek tek yeniden giriş yapın: hesabı oradan kaldırıp yeniden ekleyin, yeni şifreyi girin — hepsi bir anda değil.
  3. İki adımlı doğrulama açıkken uygulama parolası üretin ve onu yalnızca normal şifrenin reddedildiği yerde kullanın.
